| The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Cultural Heritage Center and Museum in Bristol, Va.-Tn., is seeking the donation of the appropriate and correct period WE electrical recording equipment and lathe that would have been used by Ralph S. Peer at the 1927 and 1928 'Bristol Sessions'. The Alliance is currently in the advanced stages of planning a $4.3M museum in a restored building in downtown Bristol to commemorate the Bristol Sessions and promote and interpret the music and culture of the five-state Southern Appalachian region. The Alliance is a Smithsonian Affiliate and a 501(c)3 corporation. For more information, please visit their website at www.birthplaceofcountrymusic.org. Be sure to site search for the article: 'New Technological Forces Reinvent The Music Industry', written by yours truly when I was assistant director of this fine organization. Thanks! John |
