Hello all,
I just got a meissner 9-1065 cutter that I'm excited to get up and running. Has anyone out there used one or have any info about them? Thanks!

Congrats on your cutter. Here's some info that may be helpful:

First you'll want to restore the electronics & mechanics, including especially testing/replacing electrolytic power supply capacitors & rectifier tubes.

Reputable source of mechanical replacement parts, and repair house for the actual recording and playback cartridges/cutterheads of these home units: They will also, I think, restore the entire unit for you, but you can call to verify: Gib at West-Tech Services: (He also supplies cutting needles for, I think, as low as $10 (??) for the basic steel ones)

Info on how to restore antique vacuum tube radios & record players, if you choose to do it yourself:

Source of capacitors, vacuum tubes, and other replacement parts for the electronics: Antique Electronics Supply:

Source of cutting blanks: This is hit-and-miss. Depends on what country you're in. In US, you could buy new 7-inch "dub plate" blanks from Transco/Apollo for minimum order of 5 for $60 ($12 each), or watch eBay for a while to see if blanks come across there for sale: Some folks on the forum may have a go at making their own, but until then:

Step-by-step instructions on how to use and maintain a home recorder unit, including specifically, a survey of the features & specs for one of the Meissner recorder models which is probably similar to yours: BOOK: The Recording and Reproduction of Sound, by Oliver Read, 1952:

Great general article on cutting records, although oriented more for professional cutting, from Graham Newton:

Hope this helps- good luck, and ask questions
