Hello
I just pulled out a old record cutter from a dusty shack.
[thanks to the Psychedelic Man';,
who told me there are 43 universes in this cosmic day!?}
Its a Wilcox Gay Recordio model 3C10.
{heres a old ad for it';,
http://reel2reeltexas.com/cat51BA.html
It seems to work fine=both the record player and reel to reel spins,
tubes still work,original microphone picks up';,;,
!Cept the needle cartridge seems to be broken...
We put a sowing needle in it but nothing came thru the speakers.
The cartridge in it is a Shure crystal pickup W56N
My big question is---
Whats the best way to get a new one?...for cutting purposes.
Has anyone ever had expirience with this certain record cutter???????
...Thanks for all the other info on this forum.
Im a big lover of the oddity recordings of Caroliner,Nautical Almanac {Twig changed my life in San Fran-03 performing on a Peter B machine}
and Wolf Eyes {have you seen the laserdisc that can be played on yr record player!?!?!...thanks C.Spohn!}
Getting this record cutter has been the best personal musical high since i began circuit bending a few years ago.
So many imagined possibilities!!!!!!!!
thanks for any help!
Logan

If you lost the needle, don't despair...you can probably get a decent replacement from Transco.
Logan, stick around, and 10-4 on the mumbo-jumbo. I can't claim to understand the quark theory jive-talkin', but I likes. Keep rockin'
I love my wire recorder!!! It's a Webster Chicago. I collect home recorded spools. |

| Sewing needle playback or recording?????? That may not be a successful idea. It's a funny one, though, and I appreciate the experimentation. Never know what will work, ya know? |
