Hey.. I wanna cut a master on my presto.. I need information about how to manually make the cut.. I want to master a 10", so I guess I need a 12" master. But how do I cut it, I mean, how do I actually physically cut the master. There is no pitch automation on my handcracker presto..
I figure I need to start about 2 inches in, and I should spiral out and lock the end, but how do I start the cut.. The middle I can handle..
thanks for the help guys... |

hello
just take a regular 10 inch..check for the diameters of lead in , lead out.
i just lower the head on the outer diameter. do some leadin then start the track. and on the end the leadout.
i think nothing special comapred to a dubplate. just make sure you are within the specs of the 10 inch. but you see all that if holding another 10 inch in your hand.
sometimes they dont like it if youcut from far out to the lead in, all the way with fast spiral. the stamper can break. so better start 1mm inside the outer diameter of the 10 inch. do 3-4 leadin grooves....
hmmmm. maybee: no dust. no fingerprints. no beer, sandwiches on the laquer... that helps. keep it clean. engrave the catalougue number and ship a.s.a.p. to plating plant
good luck f. |
