Hello!
I am wondering what is the correct way to mount the head on a vinylrecorder for proper vertical tracking angle.
I know that the VTA should be 15-20°
Here's a image of the vinylrecorder head (there are different versions of the head as far as I know)
The red line is the axis of the drivers/speakers, the green line is the axis of the stylus.
For proper VTA the red line must have a negative angle to the surface of the disk, so the cutting stylus has an even more negative angle.
I wonder if this will work because the stylus will have a high negative angle (maybe 30° or more if 20° VTA is choosen) which might limit it's vertical movement because of it's geometry.
The other way is to mount the head "parallel to the disk" so the red line is normal to the disk and only the stylus has a negative angle. But maybe thats not good for the sound... |
