Hi All,
Are there any good books on record cutting (techniques/ how to's)? I just bought the new Robert Morrison book, but was looking for something more in the application of cutting, not so much history. I'll need title and auther to look up in book stores. Thank you, Rick. |

There is one from the AES:
its called "Disk Recording Vol. 1 - An Anthology"
And contains artciles from the Journal Of The Audio Engineering Society...
its very scientific but also has some good information about
RIAA-filters, Tracing Distortion, Pitch correction...
btw: what is the Robert Morrison book? |

| The book is available through Higland Laboratory in San Francisco and has pix and stories about the days when disc recording was the main way of recording, primarily centered on the brodacast industry, which the author (now deceased) was a big part of. It has ben mentioned in many posts on this site . |

| Back in the '50s, the Gernsback Library published a book called Practical Disc Recording. It was a paperback and quite dated, by today's standards (even predated microgroove!), but it was handy. If you can find one on half.com or eBay, get it. |
