Im looking for a manual with secmatics? Where should I look?
Also the lead screw doesnt allways engage, I dont get it, because the lead screw is much higher then the part of the arm that should engage it, and I belive that you shoulnd have the raise the arm level,
any Ideas? _________________ http://buckettovsissors.widerstand.org |

| I have a potential schematic pasted to the bottom of a Silvertone version of mine. I have a set of instructions for a recordette. The arm does pull up and lock in position so that it cuts at a much steeper angle than it plays. You have to position the arm somewhere over the edge of a 12" or smaller disc to engage the leadscrew. If you pull it up from the rest position it could "miss" the end and not engage. If you take it out of the case and move the arm up and down and back and forth the operation should be obvious. The 2 arm Recordio units are not the same. In those, the cutting arm lifts and engages the leadscrew when you lower it over a disc to cut, but it does not pull up and lock like the recordette. As I may have said earlier, some potential problems exist with bad crystal cartridges (for some reason the Shure ones seem to fail more than the Astatic ones) and bad coupling or filter capacitors plus any bad rubber motor mounts or drive wheels. Also the microphone elements fail. Does yours use a 6AQ5 output and a 6X4 rectifier + a couple of more tubes? |

ill have to check the tubes tommow, but im gonna maybe bring the secmatics and my unit to a vintage fix it guy here, maybe he can fix the amp, and then get the cartrage fixed from the guy in wva.
So far I have just been using my primitive head that I made, but I cant get it on the arm, its similar to the gramaphone cutter plan that was posted. _________________ http://buckettovsissors.widerstand.org |

Update,
I managed to pick up a recordette sr. from ebay over the holldays, its in near perfect cond. besides the mic and cutterhead, I just got my cutterhead from west tech and have made a few cuts. who else has a one armed recordio? what tips do you have for cutting? Im using the amp on the machine because it works, I rigged up an input from the mic cable, their is no jack input on my unit, Ive got 2 saphires and some steel cutting needles to use. Ive been able to playback everything on a normal record player so far, Ive been cutting to cds, the volume is of course LOW, I didnt cut any bass frequenzes ect, I want to make a master cd to cut from what frequensies should I cut?
