Hi all. A little note of apology or whatever.

As the admin here, I looked in the admin section of this place and saw a short, mysterious list of "banned" names. There was nothing about any of these names that rang a clanging, dischordant bell in my memory, so I unbanned them. It was disturbing to find them there--at least one was a perfectly legit guy whose posts have all suddenly disappeared.

Just so's ya knows....I don't remember ever "banning" anyone here. If a username posts obvious junk I fully delete the member, which is different. (By "junk" I mean content that has nothing to do with the subject of this forum, usually of a sleazy nature, perhaps left by a roaming internet robot or....one of these strange thousands of fake members that I could spend weeks deleting but refuse to, out of a recognition of my limited time on this planet.)

So....anyway, sometimes our server, phpBB, seems to be doing some automatic jailing and deleting of posts. If this happens to you, please let me know. I'm not sure I can do anything, but at least I'll reassure you that you aren't a bad person. PhpBB has never answered a complaint of mine. It seems to be a headless monster, if a free one.

It wasn't your fault, banned people! You are exonerated!

Annoyance of the week: Apparently private messaging is not working. a "Debug" message comes up.

On the other hand, it is possible that your messages are getting through and it just SAYS they aren't getting through.

I don't know what to do. I'll wait til Monday and see if they fix it.
