Does that sort of thing dull out your cutting needles quickly? If you glue the 45 adapter on a CD, can you play it as a CD?
I love the cut of yours I saw somewhere...I think it was plexiglass, and it had a different hole for side 1 and side 2. |

that minisystems cd one was cut on a 'infra'(dictaphone) dication/transcription machine...and its on a AOL cd, back before i had access to cdr tech... so thats why we glued the 45 center on, quickly gave up that idea... it was cut by nate young and me in 1997 when i was in chicago, one of the first cuts we did //
now all the new cds ones I do have both cd and record / dual format ///
working on a lathe cut transfers cd/rec right now with the last releases and experiments ./
teh paper cuts totally wear down the needles, dang quick but sound so good, PAPER!
cds and laser disks cut like butter/ sound great ! look am,azing |

Lookes like you've got grouping on your cuts where the lines look like this: ||||||| | | | | | | ||||||| | | | | | |||||||| | | | | | |||||||| | | | | | | |||||||. If you get me. I used to get this on my presto (6n) lathe where the lines group together and then spread out again. I saw that it was the handle, everytime the handle got to the top, the weight of it would pull it down slightly faster than its meant to go. So to overcome this problem, I stuck a couter weight oposit the handle and its stopped the problem so the lines on the disk were consistent and I was not getting the grouping effect.
Still, the cuts look great! |
