Presto model M phonograph disc recorder. Circa 1936 era. This is a unique model, contains two model J5 turntables. Amp has been re-capped, and the heads re-built, although due to their age there is a little distortion in the low bass. Requires external speaker. This would be a great collectors piece, rather than a production recorder. Case has been re-covered in vintage Fender material. Due to it's age, sold as is with no warranty. Shipping by UPS not included. Packing charge of $50.00 by UPS store.
Sold in the United States Only. Shipping weight approx 90 pounds. From 97402
VISA or Mastercard accepted directly, or Check as cleared.

Been in elderly man owner's house forever, so drop him a line thru the website musicmanmurray.com. He has pics and specs, but it WILL have to be rebuilt, reflocked, have the amps gone over, get new tubes, have the rubber remade.
But both the motors work and have been kept in good shape, the platters are still flat and both cutterheads work as far as we cut onto an old fiber blank.
Only comes with the 96 LPI drive installed (uses a track under the turntable) and both playback and record arms are pivotal-style. Cannot do lead-in or lead-out grooves, but is a cool vintage World War II live concert-hall performance check recorder anyway.
Ask him for prices, but don't insult him, cuz you can't restore what you ain't got. _________________ 2 Kinds of Men/Records: Low Noise & Wide Range. LN is mod. fidelity, cheap, & easy. WR is High Fidelity & Abrasive to its' Environment. Remember that when you encounter a Grumpy Engineer. ( ) |
