|
|
| Anybody know what might be the cause of a creeking, thumping, croaking sound in dead grooves on a Scully? My lead ins and closeouts sound like 'The Grudge'. I'm guessing it's a bad bearing at the bottom of the turntable/flywheel shaft?? I don't think there's anything wrong with the cutter saddle or lift/drop assembly... |

| Bearing. Didn't really want to tear the "bathtub" apart but the lower TT bearing was almost ground up. |

it is an axial bearing? test to rectify the seats of the balls and changes the balls by new ones.
In my lathe I had to do that, and to rectify the central axis with a new bronze socket, now is very quiet
it disassembles the bearing and it goes to a distributor of bearings, or repair of cars....ask by the solution
luck! |
