Hi!
I just found an old Harmodisk in a box.
I watched it a little bit under the mikroscope.
The disc is full black, no transparent coating on it.
Vestax told the cutters to cut with normal adamant laquer styli?
I cutted this plates with diamond, but styli-time was not long.
Was there a special styli from vestax available?
Are there newer Harmodisks arround?
the homepage www.cuttingman.com not up any more....
Thanks for any hints,
Andybee

hi Andy
ask me about vrx2000 all, i disassembled totally....
use a STK amplifier with a toy-power supply
use cheap capacitors (85 cº) resistors and operationals, for the riaa use 4 stages with independient level...
i have all photos (souris too)
the stylus its adamant, its very similar to grampian long shank, but its transparent and no tip radio, similar to souri, if you like i send you a used stylus
i read in any part....the harmodisk its a specific formula, molecula more fat (grassy? no for smoke ) compare with a souri, souri its more rigid and the chip broken easy |

i knows 2 diferent types from harmodisk
one its full black, the other its a too dark blue, diferences......black its more easy to cut and her sound its more "dark" no 0 dbs trebles
the blues one sound better but its more dificult to get good chip
boths before cut have a thin transparent film for protection
i made photos |
