I've used Terry for several repair jobs, he does much better work than Russell Industries. I had the idlers for my 6N done several years ago by Russell; all they did was strip a little rubber from the outside, re-mold and re-shape. Terry actually takes the old rubber completely off the metal core and re-forms the entire original drive wheel to original specs. He even compensates (if you ask - no extra charge) for age and shrinkage by adding a few thousandths or hundredths of an inch of material to bring the drive idler back to it's original size and shape. I even had him do the drive for a Presto surveillance recording from the 30's that has a tiny core and is mostly all rubber - it works perfectly.
He specializes in tape recorder pinch rollers and drive wheels, but the work he's done for me on turntable drives is excellent. |
