Dear esteemed lathe sages,

I recently purchased a Meissner 9-1065 lathe off Ebay for very very cheap. it was sold as is, and looks to have only 2 issues with it.

1) the table doesn't spin. I'm not sure if there is a switch to activate the table or not, but it doesn't seem to move. Should I replace the belt?

2) when tapping the play needle, there is no sound.

I am visually impaired and legally blind. I may
be totally overlooking a few things here, so please consider that when giving advice. any help is greatly appreciated!

the model powers up, the radio works, the speaker works.

modifications I plan on making to this machine:
-changing the power plug to something safer (although it powers on without any sparks it still seems unsafe with its exposed screws)

-replacing the 6 pin mic inputs with quoter inch jacks

-all the tubes power up and look to be fine, but I'll eventually replace them if I have to.

I will be buying the owners manual online today, but if there is anyone that has any advice or where to get replacement needles or anything like that, please let me know.
Im also curious of any nuances this machine may have that I should pay attention to.
