Hi all, and thanks for hosting/posting.
I'm working on a research project about home recording in the pre-magnetic tape days (presto, Wilcox Gay, Rek-o-Kut, and others). Anyone know any off-line resources for where information lives -- advertisements, company files, promotional materials, etc?
Its more of a social history than a technological one, really -- but any help would be really appreciated.
thanks in advance.

| Ari: I can recomment Oliver Read's book, "The Recording and Reproduction of Sound." This covers the general history of recorded sound, and while concentrating mainly on professional equipment, it also has a good overview of home disc recording techniques, wire recorders, etc. |
