Without doing any googling, do you know who presses vinyl records in your country/region?

I found a company's website that shows photos of their factory, but they do not have a factory... simply a broker. So dont rely on websites.

Who are the confirmed vinyl record pressing plants in your region?

They are not a pressing plant. They are a broker that primarily uses GZ in Czech Republic for their pressing.

Dietrich's list is very good but I think he's missing Dynamic LP (aka "Sun Plastics") in Newark NJ - the longest lived plant in the USA in fact.
There seems to be a small new plant in Long Island City, Queens, New York now but I can't seem to find their website on a search.

Aardvark Mastering keeps a decent list of most of the USA pressing plants along with their contact info at http://www.aardvarkmastering.com/pressing.htm

Elsewhere:
UK
Vinyl Factory (formerly Portal Space)

Netherlands
Record Industry

Germany
Celebrate
Optimal

Czech Republic
GZ

I'm sure there's a good number of others I'm missing.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

I heard rumor that a new plant was being started in or near Montreal, Quebec - but I don't know whether they are actually pressing yet or their contact info.

Yeah - I think we've met a couple times first at Europadisk and then at the auction for the Europadisk equipment in 2005.

Sure - my studio is in Greenpoint Brooklyn a few minutes walk from Paul Gold's studio. I'm getting married in a few weeks and still involved in a good bit of wedding planning taking up my time - and have the usual back log of mastering work right now as well - so pretty busy for the time being - but might have an hour or two to spare at some point if you don't mind coming out to my neighborhood. You can pm me at steve at totalsonic dot net

ok, makes sense. It's Will's place, right?

Are you sure?? I thought they were just down for a bit to do another move but were going back on line in a few months.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

To keep this list accurate, please just stick to companies that you KNOW that actually own machines that squeeze hot vinyl to make records.

Congratulations, Steve!!

Sun Plastics was sold to guy in Ohio. They are in the process of setting them up.
VIP is in Montreal and they have the presses from Hub.

Hi Thomas and congrats Steve.

Thanks for the info. Dynamic/Sun were really good people - although they tended to make a thin record. Sad to see another plant with a decent history (going since 1946) end its run. Makes sense that once their lease was up that Jerry would want to just get a golden parachute while the going was still ok - as I know all too well that moving a plant and the extended down time that goes with it can destroy a business if you're not incredibly careful.

Have they actually started pressing? Any website or contact info for them?

Dietrich hello,

It can get confusing when one plant has multiple names.

Sun Plastics aka Dynamic Sun.

I had heard a different but similar name for the Montreal plant.

Steve hello,

Of course, much happiness!
